How to Use PDF Signature Tool

Upload your PDF by dragging it onto the upload area or clicking to browse. Once loaded, all pages are rendered in your browser. Choose how to create your signature: draw it with your mouse or finger on the draw pad, type your name and pick a handwriting style, or upload an existing signature image.

Click 'Place Signature on PDF' to enter placement mode — the cursor changes to a crosshair on the PDF pages. Click anywhere on a page to place your signature there. Drag it to reposition, or drag the amber circle handle at the bottom-right to resize while preserving the aspect ratio. Click the × button to remove a placement. You can place multiple signatures across any number of pages. When finished, click Download Signed PDF to save the result.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my signature or PDF data sent to any server? expand_more

No. Everything is processed locally in your browser using PDF.js and pdf-lib. Neither your PDF nor your signature leaves your device.

Can I draw my signature on a touchscreen? expand_more

Yes. The draw pad supports touch input — use your finger or a stylus to draw directly on the pad on any touch-enabled device.

What image formats can I upload as a signature? expand_more

Any image format your browser supports — PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF. PNG with a transparent background gives the cleanest result since the white areas won't show up on the PDF.

Can I place signatures on multiple pages? expand_more

Yes. After activating placement mode, you can click on any page to place the signature. The placement stays active until you cancel, so you can sign multiple pages in one pass.

Can I resize and reposition the signature after placing it? expand_more

Yes. Drag the signature image to move it, or drag the amber circle at the bottom-right corner to resize it proportionally. Click the red × to remove it entirely.

Is the signature legally binding? expand_more

This tool creates an electronic signature image embedded in the PDF. Whether that satisfies legal requirements depends on your jurisdiction and the specific document. For legally binding e-signatures, a qualified electronic signature service compliant with eIDAS or ESIGN Act may be required.
