    How to Use Timer

The Timer offers three modes in one tool: Stopwatch, Countdown, and Pomodoro. Switch between modes using the tabs at the top. In Stopwatch mode, click Start to begin timing and Lap to record split times. In Countdown mode, set your desired minutes and seconds then click Start.

The Pomodoro mode automatically cycles between 25-minute work sessions and 5-minute breaks, with a longer 15-minute break after every four work cycles. An alarm chime plays at the end of each period. This technique improves focus and productivity by structuring work into timed intervals.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Pomodoro Technique? expand_more

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method that breaks work into 25-minute focused intervals (called Pomodoros) separated by short 5-minute breaks. After four Pomodoros, a longer 15–30 minute break is taken.

Will the timer continue if I switch browser tabs? expand_more

Yes. The timer runs using JavaScript timing functions that continue even when the tab is in the background. The display updates when you return to the tab.

Does the countdown timer play a sound when it finishes? expand_more

Yes. An alarm chime plays when the countdown reaches zero, providing an audio notification that the time is up.

Can I record lap times with the stopwatch? expand_more

Yes. Click the Lap button while the stopwatch is running to record a split time. Each lap time is added to the list below the timer display.

How accurate is the timer? expand_more

The timer is accurate to within a few milliseconds for most use cases. JavaScript timers may drift slightly over very long durations, but for typical Pomodoro sessions and short countdowns accuracy is more than sufficient.
