UPS label resizing — FAQ

How do I resize a UPS label from 8.5 × 11 to 4 × 6?

Upload your UPS PDF, pick 4 × 6 as the output, and use the "Crop top-left 4 × 6" fit mode. UPS WorldShip and CampusShip put the label in the upper-left corner of a Letter page — this preset extracts that region for thermal printers.

Does it work with UPS WorldShip and ups.com PDFs?

Yes. Any UPS PDF works — WorldShip, CampusShip, ups.com, eBay-generated UPS, Etsy/Shopify UPS, plus third-party rate shoppers like ShipStation, Pirate Ship, ShippingEasy and Easyship.

Will the resized label still scan?

Yes — the tool re-renders the vector PDF at the new size, so the barcode stays sharp and scannable. For PNG/JPG sources, start from the highest-quality export you can get.

Can I print on a Zebra ZP450 / ZD410 / Rollo / DYMO 4XL?

Yes — pick 4 × 6 (102 × 152 mm). All major 4 × 6 thermal printers accept the resized PDF.

Are my UPS labels uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser via pdf-lib and pdf.js. The PDF never leaves your device, and no analytics or logging touches the file contents.

How to Use UPS Label Resizer

To resize a UPS shipping label, upload your UPS PDF label file using the upload area. UPS typically generates labels on 8.5×11 inch Letter-size pages with the actual shipping label in the top half. This tool crops and rescales that label to fit a 4×6 thermal printer label or other output sizes.

Select your target label size — 4×6 thermal, A6, half-page, or enter custom dimensions — then click Resize. The tool processes your PDF entirely in your browser and produces a new PDF sized for your label printer. Download the resized PDF and print it directly on your thermal label printer without any scaling adjustments needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do UPS labels need resizing? expand_more

UPS generates shipping labels embedded in full 8.5×11 inch Letter PDFs. Thermal label printers use 4×6 inch labels. Without resizing, printing the PDF directly produces a tiny label surrounded by blank space.

What label size does a standard thermal printer use? expand_more

Most shipping thermal printers (Dymo, Zebra, Rollo, MUNBYN) use 4×6 inch (102×152 mm) label rolls, which is the standard size for shipping labels.

Will the barcode still scan after resizing? expand_more

Yes. The resize operation scales the entire label proportionally, including the barcode. The barcode remains scannable as long as it is not cropped.

Can I process multiple UPS labels at once? expand_more

Yes. If your PDF contains multiple pages, each page is processed individually. You can then download all resized labels as a combined PDF.

Does this tool upload my label to a server? expand_more

No. All processing is done entirely in your browser. Your label file is never transmitted to any server, keeping your shipment details private.
